HOLA Mendoza!!
It'll be a year in March since we filed for the duplicate notice.... no no I am getting so antsy!!! I cant take it anymore! we've been married for 7 years and it feels we are still at the drawing board!
So once I get the duplicate approval I can send in the AOS along with the EAD?
On a lighter note....how are you feeling? How's baby doing? My son's awaiting birth is what is keeping us sane...I try to focus on that more than the negative but it's SO hard....Hope you are doing well jumping

I would start considering getting a senator involved. According to the uscis.gov website, I-824's through the California service center are now taking 3 months...... they should have finished with your application a while ago! What does the case status say online?

Once you get the duplicate notice, you will send in your AOS packet. The EAD form, I-765, is a part of that packet. Since they upped the fees a couple of years ago, when filing for AOS (I-485), the EAD form is free to file......

Baby is doing good so far, really kicking my butt, I swear  no no LOL. He is always moving and kicking. I am looking forward to him getting bigger so he doesn't have so much room to move around! I am down to about 2 months left!

Its been a while since we did this but from what I remember we sent in Paperwork Mid Dec, got Biometric appointment late January, received EAD End of February and had AOS Appt. Sept 25.
Hope this helps

Ohh believe me those 3 months have turned INTO a year! Everytime I checked the status online it said 3 mos. but they kept moving it to another 3 and another 3....

Gottcha on the packet I have to send. since we had already paid fees for the DS forms and Affidavit of Support and it's been more than a year, do we have to RE-pay those fees?? that was over $500...yikes!

Glad baby boy is doing good, I hear you on the kicking and moving around! Boy this baby is way more active than my Jaiden ever was! I'm still hoping he'll get in position in time for the birth (he's been breached for the last 2 mos). You have any names picked out yet?
YAY for 2 more months!!!  jumping

Thanks again for your advice!   grin

Hmmm, once you hit that one year mark, get the senator involved...... it really should not take an extra 9 months!

When you do AOS, you do not have to deal with any DS forms. DS forms are for the department of state, you are only working with DHS and USCIS for AOS. The affidavit of support is one form you will need, but it doesn't have a fee (the NVC only got a processing fee, not a fee for the form). The fees you will have to worry about are the I-485 fee of $1010 and the I-485 supplement A fee (the 245i fine) of $1000. So make sure you save about $2000 for the AOS packet. But trust me, once you get past this duplicate form thing, that money is less than what you will have spent traveling to CDJ and hotel and waiting for the waiver, even if you were to be approved same day!

we think we have decided on the name 'Austin' (we are 99% set on that name anyways!). He certainly isn't in the position he needs to be for birth, but I think they still have plenty of time to get there.... How about you guys, any names yet?? jumping

Thanks I think I'll e-mail our senator today....You're right about the money, it's not much compared to what we would have spent in Juarez. Just the thought of traveling there gives me the creeps! startled

Austin, Love it! A very strong name for a future leader  wink
I think (so far) we're going with Gavin....I liked Damian too but hubby said, "ahh no, not after that demonic movie", I said "what movie?" so EVERYONE started to fill me in on "THE" movie... blushing
Keep me posted on your progress! I'll try to post pictures tonight :)

Thanks again!
